Mpaka Mumburi,and elderly elegant man was painted in 1996. From the Timbilia area in Taita Taveta. Mpaka Mumburi, a retired civil servant posed with his wife.

This painting is different from all of Kateete’s paintings of couples as he suggests admiration for the model. The elderly man had an impact on him. It is the only painting where the artist describes this kind of personal reaction to the model.
