Kuria

Painted in 1997 this portrait of Rioba Marwa Masiaga, a Kuria, war veteran and tobacco farmer. He is seen seated with his wife’s wife; a situation common in this area, where when the wife becomes inactive he marries another woman to carry out her duties including bearing children for her husband.
